Basic Banner Tutorial
Want to make a simple banner on Photoshop without much effort? Here is a guide on how to make a simple, yet elegant banner on Photoshop!
Step 1:
First, create a new image by going to File > New. Then make an image with a signature size. I will be using a 400x150 sized banner. Once you are done, use the Paint Bucket tool to add a color to cover the whole banner. I used #757d98:

Step 2:
Next, take the Rectangular Marquee tool and cover half of the signature with a lighter shade of the color you used. I used #8aa8b8:

Step 3:
After that, make another thin rectangle with a very light color and once you're done adding it, duplicate it. I decided to use a light green (#9ce2d1):

Step 4:
Next, move down one of the rectangles inside the lighter half of the banner and use the Move tool to make the rectangle angled. Once you are done doing that, add an Outer Glow to the rectangle with the Blend Mode set to Overlay and the opacity set to 100%:

Step 5:
Now that the main part of the banner is done, you can get on to adding text and images onto the banner. I added a Clefable render from Jenviousity.com for this example. Since the image was a bit low quality, I decided to add some effects to it to make it a bit higher quality. Once I did that, I reduced the size of the image, added a border to it (Styles > Stroke > 4px) and duplicated it. With the duplicated image, I decided to make it larger, and lowered its opacity and changed its Blend Mode to Overlay:

Step 6:
Now that the image is added, we will now get on to add text. I used a font called Budmo Jiggler, which you can find at DaFont.com. I put some random text on it, duplicated that text, made it larger, and lowered its opacity, like I did with the Clefable image.
Step 7:
We're almost there now! We're just going to add a finishing border onto the banner. First, flatten the whole image, then duplicate the background layer, and then delete the original Background. Then, add a Stroke to it. I added a 1px black border to it, but you can add any color or size of border you want to!
This is how the finished banner turned out:

So that is all for this tutorial! Of course, this is just a basic banner, so you could easily add more things to it like brushes and textures to make it more interesting!
