History

Well, do you really want to learn about the history of this very site here? It's not very long, but it's worth reading. I hope. Anyways, when I was eight years old or so, my sister found a link to FreeWebs. When I first created the site using the site builder, I thought it was the most awesome thing ever. Back then, I was a complete and utter noob. Later on, I started to get unsatisfied with FreeWebs, and because of this, I decided to move to Bravehost, which was similar to FreeWebs, but was actually much worse, as I later realized. By then, I decided to leave the webmaster business and moved on, as I was too lazy to maintain a site. During this time, I also started to get into two things: Pokemon, and a very well known social network.

Learning HTML

In fourth grade, there a really enormous fad amongst my school, and I got swept by that fad. What was it? It was MySpace. Though I was underaged, I really thought it was cool enough to break the rules with. I decided to open an account, and I started searching for layouts. I then found a layout, but then I didn't know what they coded it with. I later found out that it was a wonderful thing called HTML, and I started to educate myself with it. I then started to learn all the basics; making the text bold, italic, underlined, and strike, as well as coding links and images. I later got tired of the whole MySpace fad, and decided to venture elsewhere.

Forums and Creating a Website

As my MySpace visits were fading, and my interest in Pokemon was growing, I decided to venture into something else: forums. While I was at Nintendo's website, searching for random Nintendogs information (I was a fan of that too and still am), I discovered their forums, the NSider community, and started looking at their discussions. I planned on registering and posted on their guest forums, as it took a week to start posting (which was messed up o_O;). As I continued posting in the forums by the username of MeDoStuff and making friends in the NSider community, a terrible thing occured. They decided to shut down. I was devastated, but I decided to move on and look for a different forums. I somehow discovered the Bulbagarden Forums, also known as BMGf. I decided to register on the forums, and expecting some welcoming hugs, I got some mean comments, seeing as I was a terrible noob. I sooner learned the tricks of the trade, and started becoming experienced in BBCode. I continued making friends, in the same essence as the NSider community. I become very notorious in the community as an avid Games poster, and started to earn a lot of posts. As I continued posting on BMGf and changed my username to Cheese, I decided to make my own forums.

Cheese's Pokemon World, No-Theme Park, and Alto Mare

This forum I decided to open was called Cheese's Pokemon World and it was hosted by Forumotion. When I first started my forums, I made a huge mistake. I made all my friends from BMGf staff members, which I learned, is wrong. As my forums grew dramatically in members and posts, at one point even averaging 1,000 posts weekly (which is a big thing in Forumotion), I chatted with all my members, and decided to change my forums into more of a general site, which wasn't a good idea. Most of our members were Pokemon fans, and really didn't approve of the idea. I was very angry and frustrated with some of the staff members, and as I didn't have the heart to fire any of them, I decided to put up with the forums. Later on, the staff members decided to rename the site yet again, to Alto Mare, and to complement the forums, I started a main site which was hosted by FreeWebs, and later on 000webhost. They were a good host, but they often caused problems on my computer. Along with the problems on the main site, the tensions rising amongst the staff members, including myself, caused me and another staff member to go on a leave. What did I do on this leave? Start The Forest Manor.

The Forest Manor and Return and Impeachment at Alto Mare

I decided to make a new site independently, as the criticisms and problems in Alto Mare caused me to create it. I decided to name it Forest Manor, after the Japanese term of Old Chateau. When I started the site, I did not have a working example of it, since I just decided to leave Alto Mare. I was inspired by Eevee's HQ, Eonlight Valley, and The Cave of Dragonflies to make another, a better website. I decided to look at different Pokemon sites that provided different types of hosting. I was searching at various site's affiliates, when I found a host that I thought fit my needs, which was PikaPower HQ. The webmaster of the site, PikaPower64, looked at Alto Mare, and decided to accept my request for hosting. I looked at various site's layouts and at Eevee's HQ, I found a layout tutorial that helped me make a DIV layout. I made a really nice layout featuring Roserade, which many people liked. I then started to get affiliated with some sites, and we started to become successful. And then on November of that year, PikaPower64, who is my host, decided to register me a domain because he moved his hosting to DreamHost and their hosting came with a free domain. Because of his grateful donation, I started to get more motivated to working on my site, deciding to make a few new layouts, which were not different from my original. I did not like them, and I also did not like the look and feel of the site. I decided to put it on a hiatus, which I highly regret. Once the site was done with the hiatus, we added many pages, a new awesome layout with a new kind of coding. Once most of my site was done, I decided to return to Alto Mare. There wasn't a lot of changes, except for a few staff being added and removed. When I introduced my old community to my new site, they gave a lot of criticisms to it, mainly because I didn't return to Alto Mare while working on this site. Therefore, they impeached me, and they have a new webmaster.

The New Change at The Forest Manor

As the days went by, I started to get a bit tired of constantly updating and working and due to the constant stress of school and extracurricular activities, my site was put on constant hold. I wasn't very pleased by this and I started to wonder, "Should I close my site?" Of course, I did not choose to close my site, but I later started to contemplate about converting my site into a site with less content and more graphics, much like my colleague's website, Pokeshore. In addition, I started to learn more about Photoshop and what I should do to make my layouts more attractive, as they really weren't before. Because of my improvements in Photoshop, I later realized that I should change my site into a layout request site and graphic tutorial site. That is what I did. Though I haven't gotten far into really developing that idea, hopefully once The Forest Manor is fully complete later on, the idea will have expanded and grown and there will be a large amounts of customers. Wish my staff and I luck!

The official birthday of this website is October 25, 2008, the day when Pikabot (back when he was PikaPower64) approved my hosting request!
