Resources

There are many good free and paid services that you could use for your website. Here is a list of some of them, and if there are more that you recommend for me to add, please contact me.

Web Hosts:

Freehostia

This is a pretty good host. They give you more than enough space for a site. They also give you an Elefante installer that allows you to install forums, galleries, a wiki, and much more.

ByetHost

An excellent host that provides you with a whole lot of space for a website. They provide you with almost 5 GBs of disk space without any advertisements! They also provide a control panel for free, which is really professional and very helpful.

PhpNet

A great host that is a good mix between Freehostia and Byethost. They provide a sufficient amount of space for a website, and also provide cPanel and a Fantastico installer that is similar to Elefante.

Forums:

MyBB

An excellent forum, which is what we currently use at the moment. A very nice design, along with an understandable administrator panel.

phpBB

A good forum overall. I have used this one before, and it has a nice design. The administator panel isn't difficult, plus it has a lot of great layouts.

Simple Machines Forums

An awesome forums. It has the closest look to vBulletin, plus you could use it intertwinedly with your site because it does support SSI.

Image Hosts:

Photobucket

Photobucket, which is what we here use for our image hosting, as well as many sites here in the Pokemon community, gives you a whole lot of space for your images. They also let you search among all the public images, so you can get a lot of images without having to search for it.

Statistics Counters:

SiteMeter

SiteMeter, overall, is a very simple, but good stat counter. They give you a summary with all the information you would need, and then some. We currently use SiteMeter.

StatCounter

StatCounter is recommended for more experienced webmasters. They give you a more complicated summary, and provide similar information to SiteMeter

Tagboards

Cbox

Cbox, which is what we use right now, is a very great tagboard. You just have to register, choose a style, then put it on your site. A very great tagboard.

ShoutMix

ShoutMix is very similar to Cbox, with the style of it. However, this one doesn't have any advertisements, which is a big bonus.
